Description

The splint is an alternative to a wrapped bandage: It is cut to length and applied as a splint, for example, for partial immobilization or as preparation for a circular bandage. Biplatrix splints are four-ply and made of the same material as the quick-setting plaster bandage—a cotton backing with a special natural plaster mixture.

They are easy to work with, highly moldable, and have minimal soaking time. After about 30 minutes, the cast can bear partial weight; after 48 hours, it can bear full weight. The soaking time for longettes is only about 1.5 seconds.
