Description

Cutimed Sorbact Gel combines two tasks that are required simultaneously for infected wounds: cleansing and microbial reduction. The hydrogel softens eschar and necrotic tissue, enabling autolytic debridement—the body breaks down the dead tissue on its own when the environment is right.

At the same time, the DACC-coated surface physically traps bacteria such as MRSA and VRE, as well as fungi. They are irreversibly trapped and their growth is inhibited; the bacterial count decreases with each dressing change. The dressing is used for dry to slightly exuding wounds—where moisture needs to be supplied rather than removed.
